World Book Day will be celebrated in style on the South Bank today as children from all 32 London boroughs take a ride on the London Eye for special storytelling sessions.
British Airways have donated a pod to each local education authority so storytelling can take place as youngsters enjoy stunning views of the capital.
Screenwriter and novelist Philip Ridley, the author of classics including Sparkleshark and Scribbleboy will be accompanying ten young regular library users for the trip.
The event, which starts at 9.40am, will also be attended by top children's author Jacqueline Wilson; children's laureate and author of Madame Doubtfire Anne Fine and Arts Minister Baroness Blackstone.
The aim of the special wheel 'flight' is to show families how much fun reading aloud can be.
