Man killed in Long Lane taxi collision - police appeal

Police are appealing for any witnesses or information concerning a fatal collision in Long Lane on Wednesday 20 July.

It happened around 9.50pm in Long Lane, near the junction with Kipling Street.

A 60-year-old man was walking on the pavement when he left the pavement and was in collision with a black cab, traveling east along Long Lane.

It is not known whether he fell from or stepped off the pavement.

The man who died was Michael Doyle, from Dunsterville Way, SE1.

The incident is being investigated by the Met's Collision Investigation Unit based at Catford Traffic Garage.
