Giant pints spotted on Bankside

London SE1 website team

If you were on Bankside on Friday morning and thought you saw three giant pints of beer, don't worry - you weren't hallucinating.

Cask Beer Week

The southern end of the Millennium Bridge was the start point for the annual Giant Pint Run to promote Cask Beer Week. Fuller's, Young's, Shepherd Neame and McMullen breweries are working together to encourage consumers to turn their attention to real ale

Three giant pints, representing Young's, McMullen and Fuller's wobbled their way across the Millennium Bridge, into Smithfield Market and across the City, ending in Leadenhall Market.

Cask Beer Week

The annual event, which sees the giant pints handing out vouchers for free beer, raises awareness of cask beer.

These activities were only the beginning of a week-long event, which runs from September 16-25. Cask Beer Week is supported by the Independent Family Brewers of Britain (IFBB), and aims to make the whole country aware of the fine and enjoyable qualities of cask beer.
