20-year-old woman charged with firearms offences

20-year-old Rachael Jacobs of Prospect House, Gaywood Street, has appeared at Tower Bridge Magistrates Court charged with a range of firearms offences following Tuesday's raid on her home.

Jacobs has been charged with possession of four self-loading handguns contrary to Section 5 of the Firearms Act; possession of one pump action shotgun, contrary to Section 5 of the Firearms Act. four charges of possession of ammunition, relating to 76 rounds of ammunition; possession of one silencer contrary to Section 1 Firearms Act and two charges of possession of firearms with intent to endanger life contrary to section 16 of the Firearms Act 1968.

She was remanded in custody to appear at Inner London Crown Court at a date in November.

Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday following a proactive operation by Trident, the Met's unit that tackles gun crime within London's black communities.
