People living south of the Thames between Blackfriars Bridge and Tower Bridge are being urged by Bedfordshire Police to check their streets, parking bays and garage areas for a red Ford Fiesta.
Officers investigating the murder of Henlow woman Alison Redford have confirmed a body recovered from the River Thames in London is that of her missing boyfriend Andrew Auger.
Detectives say Mr Auger has been formally identified and they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the death of 34-year-old Alison, who was found strangled at her home on 10 September.
Alison's red 1991 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus, registration number H897 VNW, remains missing and detectives continue to appeal to anyone who knows its whereabouts to get in touch.
Mr Auger was last seen in London's Blackfriars area on 9 September and residents, particularly those south of the river between Blackfriars Bridge and Tower Bridge, are asked to check their streets, parking bays or garage areas.
Anyone with information can telephone Bedfordshire Police, in confidence, on 01234 841212 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
