Could you represent Borough and Bankside or Bermondsey on the board of the Southwark Alliance?
The Southwark Alliance, the local strategic partnership for the borough, is looking for eight residents to join its board – one person from each community council area.
Most of the Southwark portion of SE1 falls within Borough and Bankside (Cathedrals and Chaucer wards) and Bermondsey (Riverside, Grange and South Bermondsey wards) community council areas.
Resident board members will help to influence big decisions and policies made around health, housing, crime, education, unemployment and the local environment.
The Alliance is chaired by council leader Nick Stanton who says: "The Southwark Alliance is looking for people who care about their community, who want to improve the quality of life in Southwark and make a difference locally. By joining the board you'll be the first to tell the council, the police and health services what your community needs."
This is a voluntary role and successful applicants will help the board gain a better understanding of what's happening in local areas across the borough.
The Southwark Alliance brings together a diverse group of people and representatives from public, private and voluntary sectors, who can speak about the concerns of different communities.
If you are interested in joining the board, email [email protected]">[email protected] or call 0800 018 5692. The closing date for applications is 20 April.
