Kate Walsh, an elite sports scholar at London South Bank University, is currently competing in the Women's Hockey competition at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Kate is a first year Sport Product Design student at LSBU. This is her second Commonwealth Games, having won a silver medal in Manchester, and this time she has been given the honour of captaining the England women's hockey team.
The team got off to a winning start by beating Canada 5-0, with Kate scoring 3 goals. The team then went on to beat Scotland 5 -0 and Barbados 10-0.
The team's next game is on Tuesday against New Zealand. The semi finals are on Thursday 23 March with the gold medal match on Saturday 25 March.
