Mayor of London Ken Livingstone was outside the new City Hall today to plant a tree in Potters Fields which adjoins the building.
When the City Hall is officially opened later this month the fence will be removed to allow free access from the Fields to the new piazza.The silver birch was sponsored by Trees for London which is campaigning for a million trees to be planted in parts of London lacking greenery.
