A sheltered housing scheme in Waterloo has won an award for its garden.
The annual Lambeth Estates in Bloom award ceremony was held at the Imperial War Museum.
With more than 120 entrants in this year's contest, the efforts of the borough's gardening enthusiasts brightened Lambeth's housing estates, streets, and open spaces over the summer months.
Chaplin Close in Waterloo won the sheltered scheme category. Residents were awarded a voucher to spend on their gardening pursuits.
"The standard of entry was amazing," says Cllr John Kazantzis, Lambeth's cabinet member for housing, "It is clear that Lambeth's gardeners are a force to be reckoned with. Their wonderful flower displays and bursts of colour have made Lambeth brighter and more attractive."
