A man believed to be a passer-by was shot outside the Ministry of Salsa

At about 3.45am on Sunday 15 October police were called to reports of two men being shot.

One man – aged 28 – made his own way to hospital where he is in a stable condition.

The ambulance service took a second man – aged 26 – to hospital where
he is in a critical condition.

Police say that it is understood that the 28-year-old man left a nightclub called the Ivory Arch on Walworth Road SE1. On Walworth Road a man – or men – approached him and a brief scuffle took place and he was shot in the buttock.

He made his way under the railway bridge in the direction of Newington Butts
when more shots were fired.

The second man – believed to be a passer-by and not known to the other victim – was outside the Ministry of Salsa club in Walworth Road at the time and was shot in the head.

The investigation is being led by Trident detectives.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Trident on 020 8785 8172; if you
