The South Bank's most popular attraction - the British Airways London Eye - has had its planning permission extended for another 20 years by Lambeth Council.
The council have proposed a review after 20 years to consider whether it should be granted permanent status. Current planning permission for the wheel ends in 2005.
At 450ft, the London Eye is the world's highest observation wheel, and London's fourth-highest structure.
The decision follows a campaign by the operators of the Eye.
