A direct link between St Thomas' and Guy's Hospitals is one of the key features of a new bus route due to launch at the end of August.
Route 705 (Paddington – Waterloo – Liverpool Street) will be operated by Thorpe's using six low-floor new single deck vehicles. The service starts on Saturday 31st August and the new vehicles will be introduced from October.
London Buses Director of Performance Clare Kavanagh said:
"The new buses and links are part of the Mayor's plans to make bus travel a first class option for London"
The 705 (Paddington – Waterloo – Liverpool Street) will run every 30 minutes every day of the week. It is one of two new routes to replace the hourly Stationlink service SL1 and SL2.
St Thomas' Hospital Trust Head of Facilities Mel Rankine said: "The Trust is delighted with the introduction of the 705 bus service as it will make travelling between Guy's and St Thomas' much easier. The additional bus service will make life easier for patients who don't have access to a car."
