Drum Cafe: Spiritual Refreshment
At the Golden Jubilee, Southwark Cathedral was packed with 400 people experiencing the joy, spirituality and healing power of drumming, led by members of the South African based Drum Cafe. This weekend, they were back.

On Saturday night the experience was repeated beneath the tower, albeit with fewer people, but with similar fun,intensity and concentration. In this orchestra everyone has a drum to play, quickly learning the rhythms, becoming part of the greater whole, blending into the amazing lyricism of the instruments.
Faster and louder we played and people quite unused to noise in a place like the cathedral let out a tremendous scream and affirmative shout of 'YES!!'
