Man shot in SE17 may have been assaulted earlier in Rockingham Street

Police are appealing for witnesses to a shooting in Hillingdon Street SE17 on Tuesday. They believe that the 20-year-old victim may have been assaulted a couple of hours earlier in Rockingham Street.

Officers were called at about 2pm on Tuesday 16 June to reports of a 20-year old man having been shot in a stairwell at Prescott House, Hillingdon Street, SE17.

An ambulance crew took the victim to hospital with a gunshot wound to his thigh. He has subsequently been discharged.

Detectives believe that the victim was assaulted earlier in the day, at about 12 noon, close to the railway bridge on Rockingham Street near Elephant & Castle.
