The Tempest at the Old Vic

The Old Vic's adaptation of William Shakespeare's Tempest is a riveting emotional experience, from its first scene's captivating intensity to its poignant ending speech.

Engaging lighting and sound effects draw the audience into a palpable wonderland which the actors convincingly sustain through every nuance.

Derek Jacobi's performance as Prospero is, of course, magnificent as always, but the smaller parts are filled with emotional depth and realism.

At times, the performance waxes a bit melodramatic, but one is so entranced with the Prospero's magic world that one hardly notices. If you haven't seen this version of the Tempest yet, rush to the box office. You won't be disappointed.
