Thousands of Anti-war protesters found themselves marching along the South Bank.
A lone steward directed the marchers through Bernie Spain Gardens and along Upper Ground. They were joined by others walking up Blackfriars Road from Southwark Station which is handling passengers who normally use the now closed Central Line.
Earlier Mirror sponsored placards had been delivered overnight and stacked in Southwark Street which was a designated coach drop-off point for those travelling from the South-East.
A group from Southwark Against the War, which attracted fifty people to a meeting last week, joined the march with a banner.
