Puppy set on fire in Bermondsey

London SE1 website team

RSPCA inspectors are appealing for information after a puppy was set on fire in Bermondsey late in the afternoon on Thursday 11 March.

The brown terrier-type dog was found at the junction of Page's Walk and Mandela Way in Bermondsey, near the famous Russian tank.

The dog was found about six foot up on a metal wire fence

The RSPCA says that the dog appeared to have had a plastic liquid-like substance poured onto its back and been set alight.

"Someone must have seen something, so we are appealing for anyone who saw someone with a dog in this area to come forward and help us with our investigation," says RSPCA Inspector Rebecca London.

• Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA's 24-hour cruelty line on 0300 1234 999.
