Man found with serious head injuries in Cole Street

Police are investigating how a man was found with serious head injuries in Cole Street on the evening of Bank Holiday Monday.

Police were contacted by the London Ambulance Service at around 6.30pm on Monday 31 May after they had been called to a man found in Cole Street with serious head injuries.

A police spokesperson told us that the 47-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Officers say that is not clear at this stage what caused the injuries; the incident is being investigated by Southwark Police.

A police cordon was put in place around the scene. Officers remained at the scene on Wednesday morning.

Cole Street runs between Swan Street and Globe Street, just to the south of Great Dover Street.
