Police chase bike through cop drama film location

London SE1 website team

Real Metropolitan Police cars drove with lights flashing into a police drama film location whilst following a motorcyclist with a pillion passenger on Monday night.

Dolben Street was floodlit for all-night filming of a two part LWT police drama The Guardian when the motorcyclist raced north along closed Gambia Street on the dry hot evening into a busy rain soaked film set. After crashing the bike two people ran off leaving the film crew stunned by the unscripted incident. Minutes later police cars arrived from all directions.

Five cars arrived from Great Suffolk Street and Chancel Street as residents came out of houses and flats having heard the crash. Later the police made two arrests nearby.

For the filming, a doorway under the railway bridge was transformed with flaming gas torches into a nightclub entrance.
