Hercules Road shut as firefighters tackle house fire

The London Fire Brigade was called to the scene at 1.28pm to reports of smoke coming from the three-storey house.

Fire engines from Lambeth and Old Kent Road fire stations were dispatched and the blaze was under control within 20 minutes.

A brigade spokeswoman told the London SE1 website that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
