Motorcyclist injured in Blackfriars Road collision

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a leg injury after a collision with a flat-bed truck at the junction of Blackfriars Road and The Cut during Thursday evening's rush hour.

The collision happened at about 6.30pm outside Southwark Underground Station.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the incident and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with leg injuries. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The London Air Ambulance landed in Waterloo Bus Garage in Cornwall Road.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman told the SE1 website that no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

Blackfriars Road was shut to traffic for a time and bus services were diverted.
