Junior Housing Minister Sally Keeble today visited the Marcia Road development in SE1.
The controversal Marcia Road development involves the creation of 20 homes for rent, space for new businesses to open and is alongside a private residential development by Galliard Homes. Sixteen of the new homes are terraced houses rebuilt to blend in with original Victorian street patterns.
Council Leader Stephanie Elsy (who accompanied the minister on her tour) said "Marcia Road is an extremely attractive development. It is a shining example of combining the very best in social and private housing without drawing any distinctions between them."
