The Queen's Baton Relay made its second visit to Southwark in as many days on Saturday morning.
The baton, which is touring the Commonwealth in advance of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer, was carried down the River Thames on the Queen's Row Barge Gloriana from the Lambeth River Fire Station on Albert Embankment to Bankside Pier.
The relay continued across the Millennium Bridge which was the setting for a variety of children's sports events on Saturday morning.
The event did not receive any advance publicity so there were few local residents on Bankside to greet the baton – in contrast to the large crowds which assembled for the Olympic torch relay at the same location in 2012.
On Friday morning the relay visited City Hall where it was received by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
