Man stabbed in neck at Elephant & Castle: police appeal

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a stabbing in Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre on Wednesday lunchtime.

The victim, a 29-year-old black man, ran into the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre via the ground floor Walworth Road entrance.

He was being chased by a second black male who attacked him close to the WHSmith store and quickly left the scene via the same route.

The incident took place at about 1.35pm on Wednesday.

The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old black man with a shaved head.

The victim suffered a stab wound to the neck which is not life-threatening.
