Police have named the man killed at a bus stop outside Waterloo Station on Saturday morning as Menelaos Aligizakis, aged 43.
Police were called to Waterloo Road at about 2.45am on Saturday to reports of an assault at a bus stop.
Police officers and ambulance crews found a man with serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Whilst the victim has not yet been formally identified, detectives are satisfied he was Menelaos Aligizakis, aged 43.
30-year-old Mark Dwayne Patten of Thornton Heath will appear in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on Monday 5 January charged with murder.
