Alastair Campbell is to speak at the Old Vic Theatre in May as part of a nationwide tour.
The former Downing Street Director of Communications will give lecture followed by a question and answer session after an interval.
The first lecture, just hours after the Hutton Report publication, is a sell-out and takes place at South Shields.
The former No 10 spokesperson has been persuaded to undertake the lecture tour by impresario Clive Conway who was responsible for Michael Heseltine's appearance at the Old Vic and similar tours by Tony Benn, Ann Widdecombe and William Hague.
Last year the Prime Minister delivered a Fabian Society lecture at the Old Vic.
