Spectators lined Westminster Bridge early on Sunday morning to see hundreds of veteran cars - all more than a century old - set off for Brighton.
The run was first held in 1896 to celebrate the Locomotives on the Highway Act which permitted road vehicles to increase their top speed from 4 mph to 14 mph and dispensed with the requirement that cars be preceded by a man on foot bearing a red flag.
The event started at 7am in Hyde Park and the cars crossed Westminster Bridge before heading down Westminster Bridge Road and Kennington Road.
