Pedestrian hit by truck in Blackfriars Road

The collision took place at the junction of Blackfriars Road and Burrell Street, on a section of the road where works on the new cycle superhighway are currently taking place.

Unusually the incident was dealt with by officers from the British Transport Police rather than the Metropolitan Police.

The London Ambulance Service sent several crews to the scene and the woman was taken to hospital.
