Transport for London has launched a public consultation on proposed changes to Old Kent Road between Cooper's Road and Malt Street that it claims will benefit cyclists, bus passengers, pedestrians and motorists.
TfL says the proposals at the Mawbey Road / Glengall Road junction would form part of a proposed Quietway cycle route linking Honor Oak Park to the existing Quietway 1 cycle route in Bermondsey.
Changes are also planned at the Ossory Road / Old Kent Road / Avondale Square junction which TfL says sees an above-average number of collisions involving vehicles, cyclists and motorcycles.
The public consultation period ends on Sunday 9 October.
If approved, the changes could be introduced during the current financial year.
