Lambeth's first non-fiction reading group is launched at Waterloo Library in Lower Marsh this month. The first gathering will be on Monday 22 March.
Group members will meet monthly at lunchtime, and the ban on eating in the library has been lifted just for them. Participants are welcome to bring their lunches to the session, which will run from 1 to 2pm. Lambeth Council's local history librarian Anna Robinson will lead the group, which will concentrate on history.
Discussions will cover a variety of reading ranging from particular recommended books to themes or types of histories. The opening get together will look at some articles from the new history journal Strange Attractor and decide which books to concentrate on in future.
