A cyclist is said to be in a critical condition after being hit by a van on Southwark Bridge Road on Thursday morning.
The emergency services were called to Southwark Bridge Road – close to Mint Street Park – at about 11.15am on Thursday morning to reports of a collision between a van and a cyclist.
A police spokesman said: "The female cyclist was taken to an east-London hospital where she remains in a critical condition with injuries believed to be life-changing."
The van driver stopped at the scene. No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Southwark Bridge Road remains closed to traffic.
The collision took place on Cycle Superhighway 7.
