A man has been arrested for theft of a motor vehicle after crashing a Jaguar into the wall of a housing estate in Bermondsey.
A spokesman for New Scotland Yard told us that police officers witnessed the collision outside Chartes House in Abbey Street at 4.40pm on Friday.
The driver of the car is said to have run away from the scene.
After being detained by police officers he was arrested for theft of motor vehicle and taken to a south London police station.
The collision took place near the junction of Tower Bridge Road and Abbey Street.
