Officers from the City of London Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seen to fall into the River Thames from Blackfriars Bridge last Saturday evening.
The incident took place shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday 7 October when a man was seen in the river near the south side of the bridge.
The man, who is still missing, has not yet been identified.
City Police received reports from several members of the public that a man, described by witnesses as black and wearing dark clothing, had fallen into the river and did not immediately resurface.
Despite extensive searches in and around the surrounding areas by the City of London Police, Metropolitan Police, Coastguard, and London Fire Brigade river unit, the man has not been identified or located.
Officers are continuing to search the area including the river, as well as making local enquiries to identify the man. They are now calling on anyone who was in the area at the time for their help.
