London Bridge has been blocked by taxi drivers during the evening rush hour every day this week as part of a campaign against restrictions on taxi access to roads including Tooley Street.
The protests have been called by the Independent Taxi Alliance with the slogan "where buses go, we go" after restrictions on taxi access to Tottenham Court Road were introduced by Camden Council and changes to Bank junction were made by the City of London Corporation.
The group also objects to Transport for London's proposals for Duke Street Hill and Tooley Street – currently the subject of public consultation – which would also exclude taxis.
The protests – held every weeknight – have had a major impact on bus services, with routes curtailed to avoid the area.
