London SE1 website team

A cyclist was killed in a collision with a bus on the northbound carriageway of Blackfriars Bridge on Monday just after 5.30pm.

Police appeal

A spokesman for the City of London Police told the London SE1 website on Tuesday: "Police can confirm that a pedal cyclist was involved in a serious road traffic collision with a motor vehicle yesterday afternoon, Monday 10th May, on Blackfriars Bridge. The bridge was closed in both directions for several hours, with local diversions put in place, but has since been re-opened to traffic."

The cyclist has since been named as 37-year-old Vicki McCreery of Aldersgate Street. She was born in Australia.

An inquest into her death was opened by the Coroner and adjourned on Wednesday afternoon.
