See Southwark Inside Out
The walls of the party venue were adorned with images from the See Southwark Inside Out exhibition which was held at the Menier Gallery in August.
Taken over a period of three days and nights in July 2008, within a five minute walk of the Menier Gallery itself, the photographs document ordinary and extraordinary life in one of London's most fascinating neighbourhoods as it confronts the pressures of 21st century social change.
Clive Boursnell, the exhibition photographer, has recently worked with Peter Ackroyd to recapture the spirit of old Covent Garden Market in the 1960s and 70s. Now, he's trying to catch a glimpse of history-in-the-making across the river in Southwark.
The photographs have been commissioned by Forster, the social change communications consultancy, which is based in the sister building to the Menier Gallery.
Forster intends this exhibition aims to be just the start of a larger inquiry into the local area and has set up a Flickr group which they'd like others to join and add images/videos about and around the Southwark and Lambeth area.
