Lecture by Professor Anne-Marie Rafferty as part of Feed Your Mind - King's College London's festival of food and ideas.
This session considers the role of recipes and feeding the patient in the context of nursing and convalescent cookery. It asks whether we have lost the art of cooking for the sick in contemporary healthcare. It invites the audience to share their memories of what was cooked for them during periods of illness in the past. Finally, it offers a taste of cookery drawn from historic recipes to stimulate the palate, memory and imagination.
Includes tasting of Mrs Beeton's Beef Tea.
