Myvillages.org and Grizedale Arts present an exhibition and accompanying public programme exploring building in the countryside in the 21st century.
Taking the form of a live project in the AF Project Space, the programme will combine debate, workshops, food and trade in a dynamic public forum for the discussion of rural architectural strategies.
Each week of the project will be organised around one of three thematic blocks: Farms (farming and land use), Shops (local production and trade), and Halls (buildings and public use), all of which are relevant across both urban and rural realms. The installation in the AF Project Space will combine a rotating themed display, presented alongside a permanent collection of live projects from both organisations. Visitors will be welcomed to shop at Myvillages.org ’s International Village Shop and Grizedale Arts’ Honest Shop from Coniston, taste one of the daily lunchtime dishes served from the special London Larder or browse through the Bibliobox library of international rural cultural projects.
