Communities First - Waterloo

Communities First is about giving people a greater say in how their communities are run.

It's a response to the Government White Paper, Strong and Prosperous Communities.

Communities First is currently at the consultation stage but the proposed changes are:

• Replacing the Council's Town Centre Forum and Area Committee structure with a single Area Assembly to link communities, ward councillors, cabinet, scrutiny and Lambeth First
• Placing an increased emphasis on community engagement through community and neighborhood bodies
• Strengthening the role of the Ward Councillor

Deputy leader Cllr Jackie Meldrum will be representing the Council. It is a chance to listen to the Council's proposals and an opportunity to express your views.
