Floor two is given over to a show which is held to coincide with the bicentenary of the 1807 Act which abolished the slave trade in British ships. Hawkins & Co features a group of contemporary artists considering the legacy of Sir John Hawkins who, in 1562, became the first Englishman to participate in the mass kidnapping of people from Africa - transporting them into the horrors of slavery in the forced labour camps of the Caribbean and the Americas.
The show will be a group exhibition consisting of paintings and sculptures.
Final show at the gallery before the building is demolished.
