Tour de France Stage One

Stage One, on Sunday 8 July, will start in The Mall at 10.25am, passing onto the South Bank via Westminster Bridge and then taking in York Road, Chicheley Street, Belvedere Road, Upper Ground and Blackfriars Bridge.

The cyclists will then return to SE1 via Tower Bridge (10.40am) and head east via Jamaica Road.

The race will then travel through Bermondsey, Deptford, Greenwich and Erith before heading out into Kent.

The Publicity Caravan (a parade of up to 200 sponsors' vehicles handing out freebies to spectators) will leave The Mall at 8.40am and pass along the South Bank shortly afterwards.

Pubs and restaurants along the route such as the Mulberry Bush on Upper Ground are opening specially on Sunday morning to serve breakfast and provide a vantage point to watch the Tour.

Buses

Routes RV1 and 381 will not operate in the SE1 area until the road closures are lifted. Other routes will be curtailed and diverted.
