October Plenty is an Autumn harvest celebration held annually in Southwark.
Beginning on the Bankside, by Shakespeare's Globe, October Plenty mixes ancient seasonal customs and theatre with contemporary festivity.
October Plenty is a collective celebration of the seasons, weather and food, in a public place, with access to everyone. The event is free, and happens whatever the weather.
Heavy with wheat, fruit & vegetables, the magnificent Corn Queen will appear in procession in front of the Globe with her company of actors, along with the traditional hobby horse, strung with cakes & loaves will join them, led by the extraordinary Berry Man, the autumnal Green Man, decked with wild fruits & foliage.

At the end of the day, everyone is invited to visit & decorate the historic Cross Bones Graveyard in Redcross Way.
