A new Thames patrol boat has been named 'Southwark'. It is the latest in a fleet of Port of London Authority vessels which are named after bridges across the river.
The Bishop of Southwark, Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, saw his diocese from a new perspective on Tuesday when he visited the 56th floor of the Shard skyscraper at London Bridge.
Sir Terence Conran is to donate the proceeds of the sale of the lease on the Design Museum's Shad Thames building to the museum. The sale is expected to raise £10 million which will be added to a £7.5 million cash gift.
