The streets of Bermondsey returned to normality just after 6pm on Tuesday when the World War II bomb found on a local demolition site the previous day was driven away to Kent.
Housing activists staged a protest outside the London Marriott Hotel at County Hall as Lambeth Council's leader arrived to speak at a £90-a-head breakfast briefing on 'the politics of planning'.
