Plans to build a block of nine flats on the site of the former Black Horse pub between Great Dover Street and Tabard Street have been submitted to Southwark Council.
Proposals drawn up by SPPARC architecture for a six-storey building include nine flats, a replacement bar/pub on the Great Dover Street side and a commercial unit fronting Tabard Street.
The current building dates was constructed for Courage brewery in 1965 but pub history websites indicate that a victualler has occupied the site since at least 1790.
See planning application 19/AP/5641 for details.
