The Chancellor of the Exchequer and Sir Alan Sugar came to the Young Vic last week to join a speednetworking event for young entrepreneurs.
Lambeth Council staged the event at the Young Vic as part of National Enterprise Week. The focus of the day was to help young people access information and advice about acquiring entrepreneurial skills and also get them thinking about setting up their own business.
Students from La Retraite School participated in a Speednetworking session conducted by Oli Barrett from Enterprise Insight which gave them the chance to exchange ideas with young entrepreneurs, learn new contacts and expand their knowledge of enterprise.
Organisers say that Gordon Brown and Sir Alan Sugar took part in the speednetwork session with lots of vigour and enthusiasm.
"National Enterprise Week is a brilliant and innovative way of celebrating the budding business genius of our rising generation," says David Lan, artistic director of the Young Vic.
"We were delighted to host this inspiring meeting of minds and thrilled it worked so well in our newly-opened theatre building. We look forward to doing it again next year."
