Torrential rain didn't dampen enthusiasm at Saturday's Bastille Day celebrations in and around Borough Market.
The event, now in its fifth year, was devised by London's French community in association with Southwark Playhouse and presented in partnership with Better Bankside and Borough Market.
This year, for the first time, Park Street was closed to traffic between Clink Street and Maiden Lane and transformed into a French fair lined with stalls.
The day's festivities began with a waiters' race along Park Street between representatives of local restaurants La Cave and Roast.
The winner – Caroline from La Cave – was presented with a PrĂ©sident brie.
