Pupils from St Jude's Primary School in Colnbrook Street visited Lambeth Palace on Wednesday to help decorate Christmas trees with the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams.
Each year the Archbishop invites pupils from a different local church school to create decorations for the Lambeth Palace Christmas trees and during his last Advent before retirement Dr Williams asked St Jude's Primary School near Elephant & Castle to help out.
The pupils spent time with Archbishop Rowan and Mrs Williams and sang a song for their hosts. The Archbishop fielded questions from the children on a wide range of topics.
• This week it was announced that Dr Williams, who leaves Lambeth Palace at the end of the year, is to be the next chairman of the board of Lower Marsh-based international development charity Christian Aid.
