Potters Fields Park was filled with hundreds of teddy bears on Tuesday morning to raise awareness of meningitis.
The event was a publicity stunt by the Novartis vaccine company.
The 3,400 bears represented each person who contracts meningitis in the UK each year. Most are children under the age of five.
10 per cent of the bears were white to represent those who die from the disease.
A further 20 per cent suffer life-changing after-effects.
