A Douglas C-47 Dakota troop carrier aircraft flew past the Palace of Westminster on Wednesday night as a tribute to David Lord VC who died over Arnhem 70 years ago.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast was staged to coincide with a fundraising reception at the House of Parliament.
Lord, a Dakota pilot, was killed in the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944. He received a posthumous Victoria Cross for his "supreme valour and self-sacrifice".
